Picking tips for bilberries

I've noticed bilberries are popping up everywhere around here, it looks like a great harvest coming. I'm planning to pick a bunch this year, but bending over wrecks my back, I need tips for harvesting bilberries without ending up sore and purple-fingered for days?

I also suggest using a berry picker or scoop like @Broken Strings mentioned!
You can often find them online or at gardening stores.
Also you might want to consider wearing gloves to save your fingers from the purple stain.

true, I would add one more tip, which is to kneel or sit. so, instead of bending at the waist, bring a small gardening kneeler or a low, portable stool with you. This shifts the strain from your lower back to your legs, making it much more comfortable
