Chinese crab apple?

I noticed few trees with a bunch of these tiny little cherry like fruit and there were no leaves left on the tree. My plant ID app i dont trust much has told me 3 different things but Chinese crab apple seems to be the closest. Anyone familiar with theses? any help would be much appreciated!

I've always thought they were choke cherries and called them that. I'm not one-hundred percent sure, but that's my guess

*edit: okay i was very wrong. i did some research on this, and, yeah it looks like Chinese crabapple. I've been eating them since i was eight and i never got sick, so i think you should be fine. They're very bitter though.

We have had a crab apple tree before but the apples don’t look right so I’m assuming it’s not a crab apple I’m sorry
