I was on a hike with some friends and we came across some fairy rings, we picked up a few and marched onward. Then we found a meadow which was flooded with them, so we kinda overkilled the picking part and came back with a lot more than we need and want. So, with enouhg fairy rings to feed the entire county, what's the best way to preserve them?

Fairy ring mushrooms dont really keep long fresh, so your best bet is to clean them, slice if you like and either dry them or freeze them. Drying in a dehydrator or low oven preserves flavor and lets you store them for months, while blanching briefly and freezing works if you want to keep a fresher texture. Just make sure you're certain they're safe to eat before preserving .
