My partner and i have been foraging mushrooms for a few months now and are getting better at ID-ing them using online resources and my old mycology texts. Today we found some that closely resemble FRC and likely belong to the Marasmius genus, but we havent been able to pin them down. They were growing under holly near a large oak, scattered across fallen oak leaves and wood. They have pale brown, bowl-to-flat caps (2-10 cm), cream to brown gills depending on age and white stems with no ring, some with mycelium at the base. They're drying out fast after picking. We're mainly doing this for fun, so any guidance or suggestions on similar species would be appreciated.
