Guys, I found a lot of mushrooms growing on oak beach wood here.

It's orange, my brother said that we can eat it
Is it really edible? I never ate any wild mushroom before, so idk

What do you think, guys?

Yeah, it's important to avoid eating mushrooms that you can't identify. Orange mushrooms found on rotting wood can be poisonous. Before you decide to eat any mushrooms, be sure to talk to a local mycologist or check several field guides to confirm what you're dealing with.

Glad you had the sence to not listen. If your interested in getting into eating wild mushrooms you intend to eat please take a little time to read up on The basics. If you want some good book recommendations let me know. Im sure I still have some good pdfs I could share as well.

Probably chicken of the woods. I only pick mushrooms that dont have deadly look a likes. In new england most safe mushrooms are found around oaks. Of course, do your own research. I believe mushrooms have a lot of vitamins and minerals you cant get from other foods. have fun.
